My family company RÜBIG, founded in 1946, has grown from a small drop forging company to an internationally successful group of companies at locations in Austria, Slovakia, Germany, China and the USA. I have been a member of the advisory board of RÜBIG Holding GmbH since 2019.

Foundation for the technological lead

Even in the founding phase, the main focus of the family business was on developing optimal solutions for specific customer needs. The first in-house products such as linchpins and chains were in great demand. This laid the foundation for the RÜBIG Group’s technological lead. Every year approx. 10% of sales are spent on research and development.

Know-how in many areas

Renowned companies from the agricultural machinery, automotive, machine, tool and aviation industries are now among the RÜBIG Group’s customers worldwide. The export share is around 50%. The products of the company from Wels are also used in many areas in the motorsport sector. RÜBIG plasma nitriding technology is in great demand in racing and gearboxes for wind turbines in order to achieve a long service life.

The latest developments such as diamond-like coatings open up new markets and customer groups.

RÜBIG continues on the road to success

In addition to the globally successful sales of RÜBIG Anlagentechnik, the company continues to expand internationally and thus also strengthens the locations in Austria. The expansion began in 1980 with Paul Rübig and a sales office in Germany.

The latest locations of the family-run company from Wels were opened in July 2013 in Slovakia and the USA, and in 2015 an aluminum heat treatment facility in Germany. A location in China as a sales and service branch followed in 2018.

In 2019, with RÜBIG Technologie GmbH, the former founding building for hardening technology in Schafwiesenstrasse in Wels was brought up to the latest standards. The laser as a central element of 3D Printing offers almost unlimited possibilities in this area. Technologies and processes such as laser deposition welding, laser hardening, laser cutting and welding can thus be further developed and optimized.
